The Batman by Ben Affleck appears to have been pushed back

There have been rumors for a while now about issues surrounding Ben Affleck's stand alone film The Batman. Today, it seems to be more concrete in that it appears the film has been pushed back several months.

The report comes out of Batman on Film, who have an inside source claiming that it will be delayed "a couple of months". Currently, The Batman is tentatively scheduled to release in October 2018. This would be the third major release that year, following up The Flash in February and Aquaman in July. The Batman was placed in that slot after Justice League Part 2 had development stalled, which was done so intentionally for The Batman. If that is now in fact delayed as well, it could throw off their entire film schedule.

Back in November, The Ringer reported that the script was a total mess and saw no way that it could release on time. This was made due to comments made by Warner executives to Bret Easton Ellis at dinner. Ellis clarified his remarks, but it appears this may have been out of pressure from Warner to do so after all of these reports.

There have been other reports of The Batman not doing so well either, which you can see both here and here. One thing we do know is that a script is still not done, as Affleck himself has noted. The filming was initially supposed to start in Spring to secure the release in Autumn 2018, but with no script still and now today's report from Batman on Film, the DC films universe could be in trouble. Remember, The Flash film still has no director. If that gets bumped from its February 2018 spot, who knows what will happen as that would make three total movies (Flash, Batman and Justice League)  all delayed with no confirmed release.
