‘The Batman’ will be directed by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves

Safe to say it's in good hands.

After a very troubled development which saw Ben Affleck depart as director, The Batman has found a new director.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves will be stepping in to fill Affleck's seat and help steer the ship in the right direction. Reeves is currently in the editing bay for War of the Planet of the Apes which is set to release this summer which could contradict with The Batman's current shooting schedule. It's safe to assume the movie will get pushed back a few months to allow Reeves to finish work on his current film.

Multiple reports have been coming out over the past few days stating that the film's script is currently a mess and is getting a complete rewrite and others are saying that a new draft has come in and everyone including Affleck is incredibly happy with the film. The truth? Nobody really knows!

Reeves was being considered among several other directors including sci-fi film veteran Riddley Scott which would've been pretty interesting.

The Batman has no current release date but Warner Bros. is aiming for a 2018 release, recent conflicts could be pushing the movie to 2019 though. Stay tuned to GameZone for more developments on The Batman.
