The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth finally released

Praise be?

Fans of protracted and disturbed biblical references, naked babies, and scatalogically themed rooms will already be aware of The Binding of Isaac, an action-adventure dungeon crawler from one of the guys responsible for Super Meat Boy.

Well, the newest expansion for The Binding of Isaac is now released, dubbed Afterbirth, and it’s massive. The creators are promising over 100 new hours of gameplay, more than 1000 new room designs, updated weapon combo system, 4 alternate chapters and- loving this one- Lilith, mother of demons, as a playable character.

The game is so ridiculous and over the top it’s hard to not have fun with and for those of us who grew up in less than secular homes, it’s kind of fun to spot the references as you go.

It’s currently available via Humble for a cheeky $6.66.
