The eagerly awaited closed beta for Ubisoft's open-world racing game The Cre hits Xbox One and PS4 today. Instructions on how to download the beta should begin being emailed (if you haven't already recieved yours) to those who registered.
The close beta begins today and is set to run through November 10, 2014. While registering for access ahead of time reserved a spot on the waiting list, those who pre-order a copy of the game from participating retailers in the U.S. are guaranteed access to the console beta.
As a reminder, the closed beta will give you full range of the entire United States, although you'll only be able to complete challenges in two of the five regions: the Midwest and East Coast. PvP lobbies in these regions, and two of the five car spec classes — Street and Dirt — will also be available. When the full game launches, the open-world will be full of activities for you to complete either alone or with friends.
During the console beta, Ubisoft will offer a number of challengers to players on Xbox One and PS4. Challenges include becoming the fastest crew in the Midwest takedown mission "A Little Nudge." Aslo, each member of the twelve fastest crews, both on PS4 and Xbox One, will win 100 Uplay Units to unlock Uplay rewards, like the Fullstock Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe 2010, one launch day. A second, possibly more obtainable challenge, is a more cooperative mission: the entire player base must rack up 125 million miles during this beta session. Successfully completing this mission will reward everyone, not just beta participants, with a new vinyl at launch.
The Crew is set for release on December 2 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PC.
