The Destroy All Humans! Remaster is now available on PS4

THQ Nordic has announced that they have released the remaster for the cult classic, Destroy All Humans for PlayStation 4. The game is available now and retails for $19.99. In Destroy All Humans!, players take the role of Crypto, the most cliched alien ever. What exactly does that mean? Think flying saucers and butt probes.

Crypto's mission is to rescue one of his fellow comrades from the clutches of the US Army while harvesting as much human DNA as he can along the way. The game takes place in 1950's America, as the country is in the midst of McCarthyism and is attempting to cover up Crypto's attack as a communist plot.

In order to take over human civilization, Crypto has brought some toys with him, both in his Flying Saucer and while he's on foot. Here's a look at his arsenal.

Flying Saucer:

  • Death Ray – burns humans, vehicles, and buildings
  • Abducto Beam – lifts up people and objects and tosses them in the air
  • Quantum Deconstructor – launches radioactive bombs that can destroy everything in its radius
  • Sonic Boom – bomb that explodes on contact and shocks the blast radius like a tremor
On Foot:
  • Zap-O-Matic – a gun that emits an electric charge, shocking its victims
  • Anal Probe – a powerful rod that goes into the victim's rectum and uproots a D.N.A. enriched brain
  • Disintegrator Ray – turns the target's flesh and organs into ashes, leaving behind only a charred skeleton
  • Ion Detonator – basically a grenade launcher
  • Jetpack – pretty self-explanatory
As you can see, the cliches are very much a part of the gameplay, which makes it even more impressive. I can't think of any other game that lets you butt probe your enemies and these days you likely won't see one.
