The Division has done a lot in the few days since its launch. Its bizarre player hit boxes have caused hysterical yet remarkably well-coordinated in-game queues. It shattered Ubisoft sales records in a day. It even has a Breaking Bad Easter egg. And as Redditor CopyRasta has demonstrated, we can add “beat Spider-Man 2 in recreating New York” to the list.
The image above shows an in-game area near the Plymouth Rock safe house, and its inspiration, an actual slice of New York. The resemblance is uncanny, even under all the snow and decay. Right down to the arcing bridge and slanted center complex, The Division’s rendition is unequivocally New York.
Wait, hold on a second. I see four columns of windows on the actual center building, but the game only has three. And isn’t that building off to the right quite a bit taller in reality? And what frivolous madman added in that purely fictitious tree?
Literally unplayable.
