The film adaptation of The Division was announced back in August 2016, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain confirmed to play the leads. Since then, the film found itself a writer and director and appears to be on track.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that the film is "well on the way" during the company's most recent earnings briefing. While it's on track, Guillemot reiterated that there is still a fair amount of time before the film hits theaters.
Initially, Guillemot stated that "This movie is well on the way," however, he later clarified that that it was "well on the way in its first phases." According to Guillemot "lots of people [studios] are interested [in] that movie," but he didn't specify which studios were looking to partner with the game developer to bring the film to life.
At least we know that there's more life in the Division than in the Uncharted more (sad face).
