Yesterday, Ubisoft teased us with a look at some of The Division's visual effects, saying that we could look forward to "experience a full range of weather and time of day" today. It's been a while since we heard about The Division, which has caused some excitement to temper out, but that doesn't mean we can't bathe in the beauty of the game's environment.
The environmental effects aren't only there for good looks, they will also effect how you play the game. According to Senior Game Designer Fredrik Thylander, “when in a full storm, visibility is hindered, both for NPCs and the agent. Our worst storm conditions that can hit will affect aim assist and detection ranges for both players and NPCs.”
Weather will play such a huge role in the game, that you might find yourself taking cover indoors until the conditions are better. Unfortunately, Ubisoft didn't reveal anything more than that – but they did confirm that the Xbox One beta was still on the way.
The Division is set to release on March 8th, with a beta taking place on the Xbox One this December (other platforms will follow in 2016).
