The Division will have at least 26 campaign missions, data miner finds

The Division will feature a minimum of 26 campaign missions at launch, according to newly data-mined information.

Redditor itsgamerdoc says he spent 21 hours mining the game’s files, and turned up a wealth of information in the process, the most pertinent being “pretty much all” of the missions. The full mission files are available online, but itsgamerdoc narrowed the final count down to 26. These missions are said to contain 49 cutscenes.

Assuming each mission lasts roughly 30 minutes, as most FPS missions do, The Division's campaign can be expected to last around 13 hours. Notably, this does not include DLC missions, nor does it account for mission replayability or Dark Zone content.

Itsgamerdoc also stumbled upon vehicle files for a so-called “waterplane” and a “helicopter with mini machine guns [attached] to it,” in addition to a mission titled “KillTheTank.” What’s more, a drone-based DLC appears to be coming to the game, as its files are already viewable.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, of course. All games contain unused, vestigial files which can confuse even the most fervent data mining efforts. As such, all of this information remains unofficial.

You can view the full data mine findings (spoilers and all) via itsgamerdoc’s updated archive. Or just check things out for yourself when The Division launches tomorrow.

Thanks, GameSpot.
