Wait a second, this isn't how it was supposed to end. According to Back to the Future, it was the Cubs who were supposed to win the 2015 World Series by way of a sweep over the Miami. Instead, they didn't even make it to the big stage because of f*cking Daniel Murphy and an amazing Mets pitching staff.
Yesterday, "Back to the Future Day" — the day Marty and Doc arrive in the future and see a billboard celebrating a Cubs World Series win (which would be the first since 1908) — was spoiled by the Mets who completed their sweep over the Cubs in the NLCS.
Not only did the Mets shatter the hopes of the thousands of Cubs fans who have been waiting 70 years to see their team return to the World Series (and more than a century to actually win it), but the effectively crushed the dreams of millions of Back to the Future fans hoping to see their beloved film franchise's bold prediction come true.
I guess it wasn't all bad, though. As someone on Twitter pointed out, Back to the Future did get one thing right about the Cubs.

Congratulations to the Mets, they've certainly earned it. But this one still stings.
