The Drowning brings a hardcore first-person shooter experience to mobile

A new game is bringing high-end first-person shooter gameplay to mobile devices.

The Drowning is a free-to-play title that releases for iOS in early 2013. The graphics compare to those found on current-gen consoles. Scattered Entertainment has designed a control scheme for the game intended to better suit touch-screen play and appeal to hardcore players. Ben Cousins, a longtime producer from the Battlefield franchise, heads the development team.

Players move around as a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world, where oil spills are changing people into zombies. The game emphasizes crafting and upgrading weapons.
