Bethesda took to E3 2017 with two new games and reiterations of previously released games, including two versions of their six-year-old game, Skyrim.
Unfortunately, Bethesda is keeping on with the 'we aren't working on Elder Scrolls 6 yet' campaign. Back in 2016, Bethesda claimed to be working on 'two other games' before Elder Scrolls 6 and according to Pete Hines, those games are still holding back Elder Scrolls 6.
"Down the road down the road, to reiterate they [Bethesda] have at least two major titles that they are working on before we're going to get to Elder Scrolls 6…I tried to manage expectations for folks, you know the kinds of games they [Bethesda] make – they take a while – but they have two major things that they are working on in addition to a lot of other stuff, Skyrim, Switch, and all these other things.
“They’re hard at work, they have a lot going on and like I said at the outset 'looking forward to talking about that stuff when we get to a point where we can really show what they are working on and not just speak to it, but like 'here it is, here's exactly what it's kind of going to be.' …then we’ll get to TES 6.”
Hines went on to state that “TES 6 is not in dev” and clarify that the two projects taking priority are “big multiplatform releases.” It's unclear if those two games are The Evil Within 2 and the new Wolfenstein or something entirely different because Hines was fairly vague when referring to the games.
