The Escapists meets The Walking Dead

The Escapists is a puzzle role-playing game where the player is a convict trying to escape prison. It was released on Steam Early Access in 2014 and released on Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2015. Its mechanics were based around gathering items, hiding them away and using them to escape the prison. A fun game all in itself, developers Mouldy Toof Studios has stepped it up by merging the world of the Escapists with the world of The Walking Dead.

Published by Team17, the creators of Worms, The Escapists has been given the opportunity to associate with the popular comic series. Now, players can play as Rick Grimes and his group from the comics. Taking place when Rick and the gang were holed up in the prison, players take advantage of some of The Escapists mechanics to engage in a different kind of game.

Scavenging is still the name of the game, but instead of sneaking around guards, players must now fight off zombies and raiders to keep a hold of their prison. Rick can run with a group and equip them as needed, making the idea of a scavenging run very appealing.

The Escapists: The Walking Dead has no release date other than late summer 2015.
