The Evil Within extended gameplay video looks to scare the sh*t out of you

Shinji Mikami, the father of horror-survival, is back with The Evil Within. And trust me, that's not an overexaggeration. Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have repeatedly stated that The Evil Within "embodies the meaning of pure survival horror."

But what exactly does that mean? Check out the extended gameplay video to see for yourself. Here's a brief description to help set the scene:

Detective Sebastien Castellanos and his partners are called in to investigate a gruesome mass murder. After witnessing a mysterious force slaughter his fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When the video opens, he finds his world has been turned upside down. Facing unimaginable terror and fighting for survival in a world where hideous creatures wander among the dead, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel who or what is behind this unimaginable evil.

The Evil Within is due out in 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC. You scared, bro?
