Over the weekend, Bethesda teased fans that we'll be getting new regarding The Evil Within's DLC 'soon'. Apparently, they meant it as they released today a short teaser trailer for the game's first add-on, The Assignment.
Not much is revealed in the 15 seconds. It's pretty much your character — which in the DLC will be Juli Kidman (Detective Castellanos' mysterious partner) — hiding in a locker as some terrifying creature searches for Leslie. I'm not going to spoil who Leslie is, mostly because you should play the game (and partly because the story was confusing as f*ck). But I enjoyed it nonetheless, and The Evil Within is a great return to the roots of survival-horror. So basically, play it.
The Assignment is the first of a two-part story-driven experience that focuses on Kidman. We don't know much about its premise, but that'll change soon as Bethesda also revealed that The Assignment will be released in March.
Bethesda last spoke of the DLC in December, revealing that playing as Juli will feel much different than Sebastian. "I would say she's much livelier than Sebastian was in the main game!" Tango Gameworks' John Johanas, game director for The Assignment and The Consequence (the names of the two upcoming DLCs), said. "Her story is a bit more personal than his as well, so there's a bit of banter and commentary as you play."
The Assignment will be available as part of The Evil Within Season Pass for $19.99.
