The Evil Within TGS trailer is filled with horrifying ways to die

I can't say that I've had a lot of exposure to The Evil Within ever since its announcement. Sure, I've seen a presentation at PAX one year, but beyond that, it's been mostly radio silence. This trailer sure opened my eyes to the horrors that await.

In the first half of the trailer, we get an expertly voiced monologue from Jackie Earle Haley, most notable for his role as Freddie Krueger in the 2010 version of Nightmare on Elm Street. However, it's the second half that gives me the chills. From the numerous gory traps that spell out your demise, to the number of terrifying enemies that are waiting to end your life, this truly does look like the next evolution of the survival horror genre. One that's actually scary.

And since this is a TGS trailer, you can also check out the Japanese version here.

The Evil Within launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
