The Evil Within to scare the crap out of you in August

Bethesda's highly anticipated survival horror game The Evil Within will be released in North America on August 26, 2014. It'll arrive in Europe a few days later on August 29, 2014. The release dates were announced today alongside a brief but disturbing Vine clip that gives you a taste of the disturbing nature of the game.

Led by the father of horror, Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil), developer Tango Gameworks is looking to embody "the meaning of pure survival horror" with The Evil Within. To that end, the game will combine "highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxient, and an intricate story" to help create an immersive world. And with limited resources at your disposal, the tension and anxiety will be high.

The Evil Within will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.
