The Expendables 4 is in the works

Despite the lackluster box office showing in The Expendables 3, a fourth installment of the series appears to be in the works. Variety reports Nu Image and Millennium Films have already made deals with SSXH Beijing and Max Screen Film Distribution to product the Expendables 4.

The Expendables earned just $39.2 million domestically on a $90.2 million budget. It did however perform better overseas with $167 million including $78 million generated from box offices in China.

The cast and directors have not been announced, but Sylvester Stallone returning would be a safe bet. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damm have all appeared in previous Expendables films. Given their success in China, maybe the longstanding rumor of Jackie Chan appearing in one of the films will finally come true. And if not, we always have Terry Crews wielding a machine gun.
