The Final Splatfest

Splatoon took the gaming world by surprise last May, and has enjoyed a crazy level of fan support. A little over one year later, and after more 15 Splatfests total, the end is near: The Final Splatfest arrives at 2 AM PST/5 AM EST on Friday, July 22, until 2 AM PST/5 AM EST on Sunday, July 24. The teams? Team Kallie vs. Team Marie.

For a while now, the Splatoon community has idolized these…uh, idols…and many have chosen what team to serve not based on personal preference, but based on which team their inky empress has chosen as her own. Now, Nintendo has decided to cut right to the heart of the matter by putting the Squid Sisters head to head in the final showdown.

The Final Splatfest also has a slightly different formula than the others. While it will be taking place over roughly the same time period the world over, the regions will fight among themselves, Japan vs Japan, NA and EU vs. NA and EU. In the End, the top 100 players from the two regions will be announced.

That's right, if you perform in the Top 100, senpai will notice you! Get hyped, get geared, and get ready for the biggest showdown in squid/kid history.
