News on the backwards compatibility of Original Xbox games has been sparse, but if a recent leak is to be believed, we may not have to wait much longer. On top of that, the first wave of games will thankfully include more than just Crimson Skies and Fusion Frenzy and will encompass some rather big names.
Obviously, since this is a leak and not a confirmation, the old grain of salt cliche applies here.
Twitter user h0x0d, who is known for being a reliable Microsoft leaker, posted an image of the games that will supposedly make up the opening lineup for OG Xbox backwards compatibility. Here it is:
-
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
-
Ninja Gaiden: Black
-
Red Faction II
-
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
-
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
-
Psychonauts
-
Dead to Rights
-
Crimson Skies
-
Fuzion Frenzy
-
Sid Meier's Pirates!
-
BloodRayne 2
-
The King of Fighters: NeoWave
While Microsoft hasn't announced the official release date for the launch of OG Xbox Backwards Compatibility, a thread on Reddit points to a date of November 7th. The feature was announced to launch in 2017 when it was revealed at E3 2017, and given that we are coming up on the end of the year, it's got to be some time soon.
Hopefully, we will hear more soon.
