The first Sea of Thieves public testing phase is officially on starting next week. Sign ups for it went live about a week and a half ago, and according to a user on Reddit, Rare has already begun to distribute the invites. A user who goes by the name RpLayy could not help themselves and posted a picture of their invite to the Xbox One subreddit and also revealed some details sent to them via email (a violation of the NDA agreement).
Here's the picture:
And here are the details from the email:
"We’re holding the first session next week, where we'll invite 1,000 Insiders to play. Check your inbox next week to see if you're one of the lucky pirates called up to play Sea of Thieves on Xbox One."
Unfortunately for RpLayy, posting information from an email is a violation of the NDA signed by the player, as they were reminded by a Rare employee later on in the chat. They said:
"Please remember that anything contained in Insider emails is covered by the NDA you signed when joining the Insider Programme and sharing content violates that agreement!"
Hopefully Rare let him off with just a slap on the wrist. But remember kids, bragging to total strangers on the internet for a temporary feeling of importance/superiority can have its price.
