For a long time now fans have been teased with the possibility of seeing a crossover between The Flash and Supergirl, but up until now it was all just hearsay. However the official word has been given and the crossover between the two heroes will actually happen.
The crossover episode is set to air on March 28th and it will feature The Flash (Grant Gustin) heading to CBS to meet up with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). As of now we don’t know if we will ever see Supergirl head to Central City, but here's to hoping.
Some fans might question how can these two heroes meet. Well, according to a close source to Deadline, directors are keeping with the current storyline of The Flash, which deals with the aftermath of a dimensional rift opened between “Earth One” and “Earth Two” that is connected to The Flash’s super-speed superpowers.
“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl,” Berlanti and Kreisberg said in a statement. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
The Flash airs every Tuesday at 8 pm EST while Supergirl airs on Mondays at 8/7c on CBS. Are you guys excited for the crossover special? Let us know in the comments below!
