Yesterday, fans of the Gran Turismo franchise finally found out that the latest game in the series — Gran Turismo Sport, will be releasing on November 15. However, the upcoming beta for the game has recently been canceled.
Speaking with VideoGamer, creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated that if the beta was still in the development plan, the game would have been pushed back to 2017.
"That's something that I'm very, very sorry about," he said. "In order to do a beta test we have to make a gold master of the beta test code, and for us, it actually takes as much effort as to finish the real master code of the actual game."
"Considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don't have enough time to do two gold masters for the game. By omitting that it saves us about three months of time."
There has been plenty of new details about the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title, including a bunch of pre-order items, a new in-game trailer, and the announcement of GT Sport being the first in the series to support PlayStation VR.
Gran Turismo Sport is set to launch later this year on November 15 for PlayStation 4.
