The sight of grenades raining down on the battlefield is not an uncommon sight in Battlefield 1 but that is about to change, the people at DICE is hard at work countering the never ending downpour of grenades.

One of the biggest complaints that players have when it comes to Battlefield 1 is the sheer amount of grenades being thrown around and how fast they get resupplied, something DICE clearly has noticed. Grenades in Battlefield 1 have already gotten a bit of a rework in the Winter Update, but these upcoming changes will alter the amount of grenades that are available for players and their resupply rate without slowing down the gameplay too much.

The big change is that grenades will resupply similarly to some of the gadgets, all grenades resupply slowly over time when the player is out of ammo but the supply rate increases threefold when close to an ammo crate. The new grenade supply times for each and ever grenade can be seen bellow.

  • Frag: 36 seconds
  • Light AT: 36 seconds
  • Impact: 36 seconds
  • Incendiary: 36 seconds
  • Gas: 27 seconds
  • Mini: 24 seconds
  • Smoke: 18 seconds

These are not the only changes coming to grenades, smoke, mini, and gas grenades will no longer give the player two grenades, they will instead only give players one grenade. Another big change is that after these changes are implemented the ammo pouches will no longer carry grenades, something that some hardcore Battlefield 1 players think might encourage more team play since players will have to seek out ammo crates and help their support players more.

These new changes will also serve as a base for future grenade tweaks and DICE is also looking to expand this system to more gadgets.

These are rather big changes coming to Battlefield 1 in the "They Shall Not Pass" DLC that might change the gameplay quite a bit, let us know your thoughts on these upcoming changes.
