The internet’s reaction to VG247’s “Uncharted 4 preview” is golden

Uncharted 4 preview debacle sparks hilarious hashtag '#WriteAVG247Review'

It's no secret that the general gaming public isn't pleased with traditional media's coverage of video games. Clickbait tactics, misleading quotes and, now, a lack of common sense doesn't help public perception of the gaming media (not that the media for other industries is any better). But I'm not here to pounce on VG247 for their royal screw up in which they published a preview of what they thought was Uncharted 4 at Tokyo Game Show, but really turned out to be Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

The mishap has seen VG247 become the butt of a long running joke that is today's "gaming journalism." But let's make one thing perfectly clear, it's not like gaming journalism had far to fall before this. And while it shouldn't be laughable what today's media has become, you can definitely feel free to laugh at the internet's response. Check out some of the best responses to the newly trending hashtag "#WriteAVG247Review".

I could go on forever with these, but I think you get the gist of it. But perhaps the best response to the flub comes from the Uncharted 4 creative director himself, Neil Druckmann.

Well played, internet. Well played.

Sure, I could offer some sort of insightful take on this entire debacle, but this is the internet, folks. We don't need that sort of cursory analysis on here. The internet exists for memes and kittens, and websites exist for lists of content stolen from social media and Reddit.
