Gear up, Guardians. The Iron Banner is returning to Destiny.
Starting next week on January 13th, the special Crucible event will run through January 19th, giving you just a few days to rack up as much Iron Banner rep as possible in order to obtain the exclusive rewards. We don't yet have the full details for the event, like if any tweaks, balancing, and rep changes will be made, but Bungie did say it'll offer players "updated rewards."
The last Iron Banner event took place last month after the release of The Dark Below DLC. It brought all-new gear that, when purchased and upgraded, helped Guardians reach level 31. Aside from that though, not much was changed. Only Guardians level 20 or higher could lead a Fireteam into the Iron Banner, Medallions of Iron returned, and the reputation rankings were reset. I assume all of that will return with next week's iteration.
So get that gear upgraded because in the Iron Banner all of that auto-balancing garbage is removed, and power truly matters.
