One of my favorite cartoons from my childhood was Hanna-Barbera's The Jetsons, which aired between 1962-63, and then again between 1985 and 1987. The 2062 world of houses in the sky, robots, aliens and flying cars was a fun glimpse into the future. George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, Rosie and Astro are as nostalgic as cartoons can be.
Warner Bros., who have been trying to develop a live-action movie of The Jetson for quite some time, has instead decided to develop The Jetsons as an animated feature film. Matt Lieberman, who worked on an animated Scooby Doo movie, is writing the script.
I'm happy Warner Bros. decided to make The Jetsons an animated film; that's what it should be. The last Jetsons movie was Jetsons: The Movie from Hanna-Barbera and Universal Pictures in 1990. I'm being hit hard with nostalgia right now. Speaking of nostalgia, does anyone remember the Hanna-Barbera ride from Universal Studios?
