The Last Guardian has been in development hell for almost as long as Final Fantasy XV, and seemed to be cancelled at several points. Even when it was confirmed to be coming at E3 2015, the constant delays, including the most recent one, have made it feel like the game will never come out. As if its existence is restricted to being the carrot Sony dangles in front of fans at trade shows when they need a big announcement.
As much as the latest delay frustrates, the latest trailer excites: The Last Guardian looks pretty close to done, and that doesn't change, even if Sony were to come out and announce one last delay to February 2017 (because that month isn't busy enough already). The trailer assures us this vaporware is finally arriving, and in the near future too.
