The Last of Us: Left Behind launch trailer sets up an emotional journey

In just a few short hours you'll be able to download and play Left Behind, the first story-driven content released for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us. Now you've likely already seen the opening cinematic of the new content, but today's launch trailer paints more of an overall picture of the upcoming adventure you'll soon embark on as Ellie. Though brief in length, it's enough to tease us with the themes of survival, loyalty, and love that Left Behind will explore.

Left Behind acts as a prequel "of sorts" to the main campaign in The Last of Us. It explores the relationship of Ellie and her best friend Riley as they attend a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone. Those who already played the campaign might remember Ellie mentioning being bitten by one of the Infected while with Riley, an event that will hopefully be playable in the add-on.

The Last of Us: Left Behind will be released tonight for $14.99, though anyone who owns the Season Pass will be able to download it for free.
