Newcomers to the PlayStation family — those who may have switched from the Xbox to the PlayStation brand with this new generation of consoles — missed out on some pretty sweet PlayStation 3 titles.
One such title is Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, which won countless awards in 2013. While Naughty Dog is working on a brand new Uncharted for PS4, there's many new PS4 owners who didn't previously own a PS3; because of that, they may have missed out on Joel and Ellie's adventure. When asked if those who "switched teams" would get a chance to experience The Last of Us on PS4, Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli replied, "We will see what the future brings!"
"We’re just getting our Naughty Dog engine up and running on PS4 as we work on the next UNCHARTED project," he added. Not to say that we're not excited for a new Uncharted, but I firmly believe The Last of Us is a game every PlayStation fan must play. Even on the PS3, the game resembled a "next-gen" game, so I can imagine how insanely awesome it would actually be on the PS4.
But while we wait for a possible PS4 version, Naughty Dog meanwhile has already announced Left Behind, the first story-driven downloadable content for The Last of Us. Not many details have been shared regarding Left Behind, but we do know it takes place prior to the events int he main campaign, when Ellie is attending a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone. You play as Ellie, joined by new character Riley, as the two journey through a series of events that "will forever change both of their lives."
