The Last of Us Part 2 is not just one of the most anticipated games of 2020 but the entire generation. Fans have been waiting for the sequel to Naughty Dog’s survival horror game since 2013 and now, it’s just a little over 100 days away.
Later this month, Sony will give the public the first opportunity to play the game ahead of release at PAX East in Boston. Attendees can stop by Sony’s booth to play an hour of the game, specifically a section called “Patrol”.
“From February 27 until March 1, attendees will have an opportunity to play “Patrol,” featuring an early area of the game where Ellie and Dina must venture out of Jackson into the surrounding areas to clear out infected. The demo will span an hour of gameplay and provide just a small glimpse into what awaits you in the full game.”
For those out of the loop, Dina appears to be Ellie’s lesbian love interest in The Last of Us Part 2. The two shared a kiss during the game’s E3 gameplay reveal a couple of years ago and have been showcased having a lot of chemistry in the game’s marketing. The hands-on demo looks to be the full version of some of the footage that was released back in September.
Those interested in playing the demo can swing by the booth or schedule appointments via the PlayStation Experience App. It’s unclear if we’re going to get any footage out of this demo but Naughty Dog promised in a PlayStation Blog post that there will be more regular communication as they get closer to launch.
The Last of Us Part 2 also got an official M-rating from the ESRB recently which rated the game for violence, language, nudity, and sexual content. Those last two descriptors are a first for Naughty Dog.
The Last of Us Part 2 will release on May 29th, 2020 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
