The Last of Us Remastered gets new Patch bringing PS4 Pro options, Multiplayer tweaks

The Last of Us: Remastered has seemed as though it's been in Naughty Dog's rearview mirror for quite a while now, particularly with the development on the sequel getting underway. However, the studio just released Patch 1.09 for the main game, and Patch 1.03 for its DLC, Left Behind. The main draw of the update are some additional PS4 Pro user options which allow players to tinker with the game'sĀ resolution, framerate, and shadow quality.

Here's the post direct from Naughty Dog describing the update:

We've just launched a new update for The Last of Us Remastered and The Last of Us Remastered: Left Behind that introduces expanded display settings for players using a PlayStation 4 Pro system. Starting today, PS4 Pro players will be able to select from new menu options and presets that provide additional configurations for resolution, framerate, and shadow quality. These new display settings options offer greater flexibility to PS4 Pro players connected to a 4K display, as well as traditional HD displays through supersampling. Additionally, today's patches resolve bugs and exploits identified in Factions Multiplayer.

The Multiplayer changes include a fix forĀ "an issue that could cause a player to aim downward inadvertently" and "an exploit where players could throw a smoke bomb to get inside of level collision."

In other The Last of Us news, co-director Bruce Straley has left Naughty Dog after 18 years. While concrete details on the sequel have been hard to come by, some fans have been gathering evidence that at least a portion of The Last of Us: Part II will take place in Seattle.

There's still no release window for the game, and frankly, we expect Naughty Dog to keep it that way for some time. The Last of Us: Remastered, however, is available now exclusively on PS4 and it's one of the best games money can buy.
