Coming off winning numerous BAFTA awards, Sony and Naughty Dog have announced that The Last of Us has sold over six million copies worldwide since its launch in June of last year. The narrative that Naughty Dog crafted coupled with the game's strong storytelling and acting has made it easily one of the best games of the PS3's generation — if not the best, ever — so the sales are certainly warranted.
What's more, Left Behind, the game's recently released DLC, is officially the highest rated PS3 downloadable content ever, based on its Metacritic score of 89.
One has to wonder though, does the success The Last of Us has seen on PS3 warrant a PS4 port? Though the game is rumored to be coming to Sony's new system, Naughty Dog has yet to officially announce anything.
What we know for certain is that The Last of Us has one final DLC as part of its Season Pass. Though the focus will be on multiplayer, it'll also add a new single player difficulty. Naughty Dog is also working with Sony and Screen Gems on developing a live-action movie adaptation of the game.
