As previously rumored, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us will ship with a Season Pass that includes three downloadable content packs and a bunch of other day one bonuses. Sony last night confirmed the Season Pass DLC is available for pre-order for $19.99, a 30% savings over the pricing of the DLC packs individually.
Those who purchase the Season Pass will receive increased crafting and healing speed, a 9mm reload speed upgrade, a rifle clip capacity upgrade, and an exclusive 90 minute "Making of The Last of Us" documentary. The documentary provides an in-depth look at the making of The Last of Us throughout its development by Area 5.
As for the actual content, Naughty Dog will be offering single player content for the first time. "The journey and cast of characters in The Last of Us lends itself to thorough narrative exploration and we’ve got more of the story to tell," said Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli. The other two DLC packs will focus on multiplayer content in the form of "additional multiplayer maps and other expansions."
The full digital edition of The Last of Us and the Season Pass is now available for pre-order. The game will unlock at midnight on June 14th and a unique download installer will allow you to start playing once the game data is a little over half way downloaded. For those still on the fence about the game, I highly suggest you check out our most recent preview of The Last of Us.
