The Lazy Song among Guitar Hero Live’s most played tracks

There's a joke to be made here, isn't there?

With two monster music-game launches this month (three if you count Just Dance), you can bet they're to blame for any increase in late-night parties and noise complaints. Guitar Hero Live has only been out for a week, but the continually changing music selection seen in GHTV, the game's online service, has been received well by the community. Activision released data today announcing the Top 10 most-played songs since the game's debut. Where is all that guitar-strumming going? To 'The Lazy Song,' of all things.

The Bruno Mars track ranks sixth on the list, potentially indicating that Guitar Hero Live is already a go-to fix for said laziness. The first week's chart also reveals that Green Day ranks high at third with 'American Idiot.' This shouldn't be a surprise, considering they were big enough in the previous music-game heyday for their own Rock Band entry. (Different series, yes, but the music still speaks to the same crowds.) Towering above the rest are 'Chop Suey!' by System of a Down and 'Tribute' by Tenacious D, in that order.

It will be interesting to see if the community's tastes change with next week's chart. Instead of Blink-182 and Slipknot, maybe Hilary Duff and Ed Sheeran will garner considerable popularity? Okay, so maybe the former isn't going to happen (not with 'Chasing the Sun' anyway), but who's to say the latter won't?
