The Lead Designer for Diablo 3 leaves to join Obsidian

The Lead Designer of Diablo III, Leonard Boyarsky, is leaving Blizzard to join Obsidian Entertainment, creators of Fallout: New Vegas.

The news that Boyarsky was leaving Blizzard came via a few tweets and Facebook posts. At Obsidian Boyarsky will be reunited with Timothy Cain, the duo worked together on Fallout, Fallout 2, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. Boyarsky was also the art director on the original Fallout game.

Obsidian has also confirmed that Boyarsky had joined Obsidian via twitter, but what position he has at Obsidian or what he is working in has not yet been revealed.

Obsidian is currently working on a new Pillars of Eternity style RPG called Tyranny, but with Boyarsky joining the team and Obsidian being interested in making another Fallout game they might just be doing a the next Fallout game.
