If there's one thing that Ridley Scott likes for his Alien movies, it's women with strong jawlines. First we had Sigourney Weaver, then we had Noomi Rapace and now we have Katherine Waterston, the female star from the Steve Jobs movie. As reported by Deadline, Waterston will be playing the role of Daniels.
Previously Ridley Scott spoke on Alien: Covenant expanding on the Prometheus story, by following Rapace and Michael Fassbender (who was just a functioning android head at the end) as they explore space in search of the Engineers.
Details on what Covenant are about have yet to be revealed, but it is believed to follow the story of a crew from a ship named Covenant who believe to have found paradise. The 'paradise' the crew finds turns out to be a 'dark and dangerous' world that is only inhabited by Fassbender. According to Scott, Covenant will bring back all of the aliens we hold dear to our hearts – especially the chest-burster.
While that plotline isn't official, it does give some background information to the film's previous title, Alien: Paradise Lost.
