Known for her work on The Lobster, French actress Ariane Labed is the latest to join the cast of the long awaited Assassin’s Creed movie. Replacing the planned casting of Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander due to scheduling conflicts, Labed will be working alongside Marion Cotillard (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) and Michael Fassbender (X-men: First Class, Prometheus).
There’s little word yet on the plot or setting of the film and the set has been notoriously scant on details, but director, Justin Kurzel, teased that “it will be different and the same” from the source material, which is the kind of non-answer that is pretty common for projects in long haul development.
Production goes into full swing later this year with an anticipated opening of December 21, 2016.
