The long awaited Friday the 13th video game will release next month on PC and consoles

A couple years ago, a video game based around the iconic horror film series, Friday the 13th, was crowd-funded on Kickstarter. The game is similar to a deadly game of hide and seek where a number of camp counselors or victims from the films must hide from Jason as he hunts them down on maps like the legendary Camp Crystal Lake. For the most part, the players hiding from Jason are pretty defenseless but if players work together and use their wits, they can kill him or find a way to escape.

The game has been in development for quite some time and had a closed beta late last year, but now we finally know when we can all play it. Friday the 13th: The Game will release on May 26th, 2017 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $40. The news was revealed in a brand new trailer which showcases some of the brutality and gameplay mechanics featured in Friday the 13th: The Game. You can view the trailer below.

Friday the 13th: The Game will be available as a digital download on PC and consoles when it releases.
