The Lord of the Rings Online announces Rider of Rohan expansion

The free to play and award winning MMO The Lord of the Rings Online has announced a new digital expansion today.  The “Riders of Rohan” will launch Fall 2012.  For you LOTR fans, this expansion speaks to you.  This expansion will allow fans to go to iconic LOTR locations such as Amon Hen and Fangorn Forest.  Stick it to face painted orcs like never before with some new features.

Said features will include a raised level cap to 85, new mounted combat system, and new key quests.  Important events like the breaking of the Fellowship at Amon Hen and the forging of an alliance with the Ents of Fangorn will be featured.  Players will even be able to aid Éomer to priotect his homeland from the ever growing shadow.  Relive your favorite LOTR moments.

Mounted combat will be a huge feature of this expansion.  Players will be able to travel to across the Plains of Rohan in all of its massive glory.  Face the forces of Isengard and Mordor.  Gain an obedient war-stead then customize its appearance and level its abilities though repeated usage.  Stick it to the warg riders who pillage the Plains of Rohan.

Fall is some time away so if you haven’t tried this free to play MMO yet get on it.  You have time to reach max level until the expansion is released.  Middle Earth needs you dammit.
