The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan delayed, but it’s not all that bad

The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan, the upcoming expansion for Turbine's free-to-play MMORPG, has been delayed.

Executive producer Kate Paiz took to the game's website to make the announcement, confirmed a "very successful Beta program".

"The amount and quality of feedback on our largest expansion ever has been fantastic," Paiz said.

The beta test was so successful that Turbine has identified issues that they feel need to be addressed before Riders of Rohan launches. Because of that the expansion has been delayed to October 15.

"We understand that many players have been looking forward to joining us in Rohan as soon as possible and will be disappointed by this news," Paiz added.

It's not all bad for fans eagerly awaiting the expansion. As a token of appreciation, Tubrine will be granting a gift to all pre-purchasers of Riders of Rohan. Players who pre-purchase the expansion will receive 500 Turbine Points and a "goodie bag of consumables" which contains the following:

  • 100% XP Boost (1hr)
  • Slayer Deed Accelerators x1 (60 min)
  • +20% Renown (3 hours)
  • +20% Mount Speed (1 hour)
  • Tome of Defence
  • Scroll of Finesse

The points will be awarded automatically and a code will be sent to players that have pre-purchased Riders of Rohan, The code will be redeemable from around September 5th to any account that has pre-purchased by that date.
