The Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Collector’s Edition is lavish and limited

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the impending reboot to developer DICE’s first-person parkour passion project, is packing some serious merchandise. The game’s newly revealed Collector’s Edition will be a short-print affair, available for $199.99 via select retailers. The edition includes:

·         Adult Faith/Young Faith diorama

·         Steel book case

·         Exclusive lithograph

·         10 pieces of concept art

·         Two temporary tattoos (Mirror’s Edge logo and Faith’s right sleeve)

·         Storage case

The 14-inch statue depicting both a young and mature Faith is easily the focal point of the Catalyst Collector’s Edition. It’s a striking piece, to be sure, and also speaks to DICE’s narratively charged plans for the game, which is said to double down on exploring Faith as a character.

Similarly, the edition itself affirms that the studio is very serious about the title. It’s no grand secret that the original Mirror’s Edge slipped under the mainstream radar, barely clawing its way to the status of cult classic. For its return, DICE has pulled out all the stops, even going so far as to grant it a sizeable chunk of limelight at E3 2015 and now an exorbitant collector’s edition.

PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Collector’s Edition can be found at GameStop in North America, “with the other retailers worldwide to be announced soon,” DICE said. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will release February 23, 2016 (February 25 in Europe).
