There's a chance that you've been collecting the Lord of the Rings DVD sets since the book series was adapted to film in 2001 by Peter Jackson. Surely, you made the switch from DVD to Blu-Ray when it became available and when the Hobbit movies hit Blu-Ray, you bought those too.
It's time for you to throw all those Blu-Ray and DVDs away or donate them to your youngest sibling, the best Blu-Ray set for the films you could ever own has been listed on Amazon (via i09).
Ok, it might not be the best , but it is certainly the most expensive and jam-packed set you could own. The 'Middle-Earth Limited Collector’s Edition' was listed on Amazon featuring 30 Blu-ray discs of footage: Extended cuts of 'An Unexpected Journey', 'Desolation of Smaug','Battle of the Five Armies', 'Fellowship of the Ring', 'Two Towers', and 'Return of the King.' The discs also feature extensive behind-the-scenes documentaries, which were included in the past extended edition releases.
In addition to the 30 discs, the Blu-Ray set comes with a 100-page sketch style booth with replica The Red Book of Westmarch, filled with original film sketches, watercolor paintings and new artwork.
But wait! There's more!
The discs come in-cased in six faux leather books and on a "collectible Hobbit-style wood shelf."
The set was originally listed for $800, but Amazon has scrubbed away any remnants of the price, but the October 4th release has remained.
