20th Century Fox has just dropped the first trailer for the upcoming Ubisoft game adaptation, Assassin's Creed. Check it out above!
Based on the highly successful game series, Assassin's Creed stars Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch. Contrary to the storyline from the games, Callum Lynch will act as the main protagonist who adopts the ancestral memories of one Aguilar, as opposed to the original story involving Desmond Miles and his ancestor, Ezio Auditore. The alteration in the character base is intended to open up the series to new and interesting plotlines, without feeling constrained by journeys players and fans of the franchise have already experienced. The plan does appear to have reflected well considering the sequel has already been greenlit and is about to start production. The official synopsis is as follows:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
The movie stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Apocalypse), Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson, and is directed by Macbeth's Justin Kurzel.
Before the trailer release, the studio has also unveiled official movie stills from the production. Check them out on the next page!
