The new Star Trek show will be one story across 13 episodes

No more holodeck fillers!! Hopefully

Besides a logo and a short teaser not much had been revealed about the new Star Trek TV show, but today some more details about the new Star Trek TV series has been revealed.

Showrunner Bryan Fuller revealed a few new details in an interview with Collider, like the first season of Star Trek will be split over 13 episodes  and that the first six episodes are one hundred percent done "We've got the arc of the first season entirely written, or arced out, and we've got the first six episodes entirely broken".

Bryan Fuller also reveled that the casting process is well under way and that fans will probably see some interesting choices for the cast since they will be gender and color blind when casting actors. The original Star Trek series had the first interracial kiss on television and Fuller aims to follow the path set by his predecessors.

"We've met with a few actors, and it’s an interesting process. There’s a few people that we like and we want to carry on what Star Trek does best, which is being progressive. So it’s fascinating to look at all of these roles through a colorblind prism and a gender-blind prism, so that’s exciting."

That's about what Fuller revealed, he said that more would be revealed "around Comic-Con". The fact that Star Trek will be streamed on CBS All Access mean that they won't have to follow network broadcast standards and such giving them more freedom to do what they want.

"And because we’re CBS All Access, we’re not subject to network broadcast standards and practices. It will likely affect us more in terms of what we can do graphically, but Star Trek’s not necessarily a universe where I want to hear a lot of profanity, either."

The shooting is scheduled to start in September, the launch date has not yet been revealed but stay tuned to GameZone for more news on the new Star Trek series
