The new Tony Hawk game revealed as a mobile exclusive

Well that took quite a turn. Tony Hawk announced that a new game is officially being developed which made my inner 13 year old very excited. After the pretty fantastic Tony Hawk HD, I hoped that the series would once again return back to its roots. It seems like that's not the case at all.

In a video interview with Bloomberg, Tony Hawk revealed that the game currently being worked on is exclusive to mobile games. That's right, get those smartphones out and ready.

"We are working on a mobile game, we are working on a game for mobile devices this year, and we've never really gone exclusively that direction yet, so we're excited because– you know, the amount of time people are spending on their phones and tablets playing games, we've never had our own in that space, so I'm excited to provide it to them."

And he's not wrong. Considering the crazy amount of money games like Clash of Clans makes in a single day, it's obvious that the mobile space is certainly the route you should be taking.

Sure, I'm a bit disappointed, as I was hoping for Tony Hawk to take the first step into next-gen skateboarding, but keeping things fun like in his earlier games. But when it comes down to it, it's business.
