Last year, Disney's Chairman and CEO, Bob Iger, confirmed that we would be seeing more Star Wars films 'beyond' 2021 and earlier this year, Iger confirmed we were looking at a potential "decade and a half" of star wars stories.
Now, the Lucasfilm boss is confirming that they are currently planning the 'next ten years' of Star Wars.
"We're sitting down now, [and] we're talking about the next ten years of Star Wars stories", Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy said on the official Star Wars Show. "We're looking at narratively where that might go. Future stories beyond Episode IX, with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, but we're also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us to places that we haven't been yet, and that's exciting too because it's a vast galaxy far, far away. The possibilities are endless!"
Kennedy doesn't explicitly say that the plans are for live action movies, but they are talking about where the current protagonists will be going in the franchise.
