For months now, Warner Bros. Pictures has been teasing us with images and brief videos for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. Today, though, we get our first full look at the upcoming reboot of the classic post-apocalyptic franchise — and it doesn't disappoint. It's pure madness.
For those just confused by chaotic sequences that make up this trailer, here's an official description of what's happening in the movie.
"Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows."
Mad Max: Fury Road stars Tom hardy as "Mad" Max Rockastansky, a role formerly filled by Mel Gibson. Joining him on screen is Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as the Imperator, Furiosa; Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max,” “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus.
Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters on May 15.
