The official Star Wars: Rogue One teaser trailer is here!

Disney is riding the wave of Star Wars hype and we are all loving it. Today, the official teaser trailer for Star Wars Rogue One was released!

Earlier, we were only able to catch a glimpse of an illegally filmed teaser for Rogue One, but now Disney and Lucasfilms has given the world a full 1:42 long teaser trailer from 2016's most anticipated film, Star Wars Rogue One.

This film will take place between episode III and episode IV.

The teaser trailer may be short but is manages to show a lot. This will be a darker and more serious Star Wars film for the point of view of the rebels, not a Jedi with superpowers, just a regular humans.The costumes look more "real" and though no aliens were shown in the trailer it has been promised that they also will look more "realistic". Some images from Rogue One that emerged earlier combined with the trailer shows that this Star Wars will be darker, grittier, and more realistic, or at least as realistic a sci-fi movie can get.

The trailer starts with the camera following a young rebellious woman by  the name of "Jyn Erso" on her way into Rebel HQ to be questioned, to see if she would fit for one of the Star Wars franchises most dangerous missions, getting the plans for the original Death Star. Jyn fits their needs, she's efficient and stone cold.

Later on the trailer shows Forest Whitaker as a sort of local rebel leader being a sort of mentor figure for Jyn . A few awesome action sequences are also shown, both bigger battles and smaller close quarters combat scenes. No light sabers, only fists and blasters.

Only one familiar face can be seen, Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma, the rest all are new.

As if fans weren't hyped enough the trailer ends with Whitaker saying "What will you become?" while showing Jyn in a black engineer Trooper uniform.

Rogue  One has a few big names in the cast like main actress Felicity Jones (Collide), Mads Mikkelsen (Casion Royal), Forest Whitaker (Criminal Minds), Donnie Yen (Yip Man), and Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Serenity). But non of the character names has been revealed yet, Felicity Jones' character name is the only name mentioned in the trailer.

Rogue One, the next chapter in the Star Wars saga, is set to release in December 2016.
