Blizzard officially launched the Closed Beta for Overwatch in the Americas and Europe today. The Beta will only be available to a limited number of players for now, but will scale up in number as the game's release approaches. This might not be a bad thing, as Blizzard calls this Closed Beta a 'Traditional Beta,' meaning that there will be plenty of bugs in it.
If you signed up for the Closed Beta, be sure to check your emails and your Battle.net account. If you were picked for the beta you'll find it listed under your account. Note, there are no keys for the beta… If someone emails you asking for information to get a game key — it's a trap.
The primary objective of the Closed Beta is to get focused, hands-on gameplay feedback that will allow the developers to make the changes they need to make. Feedback can be as simple as playing a match so Blizzard can gather metrics or heading to the appropriate forums to let them know about your experience.
- Beta Feedback Forum: Share your feedback on heroes, features, systems, and more.
- Beta Bug Report Forum: Report any in-game bugs you find during gameplay.
- Beta Tech Support Forum: Report any technical issues you encounter while playing.
The beta should end before the end of 2015, Blizzard doesn't have a final date for this yet – but when you can't log in any more… You know it's done.
